Our Rich History

Texas Sigma SAE traces its roots to the early 1990s, when a group of students at Southwest Texas State University organized under the name Students Aspiring Excellence (SAE). Early chapter records show the organization formalizing its mission in 1991 around tradition, community service, campus involvement, leadership development, and academic achievement. By 1992, the group had developed into the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Colony at Southwest Texas State University, with members focused on building a strong chapter structure, electing officers, supporting one another, and preparing for long-term growth. These early efforts laid the foundation for the brotherhood, leadership, and alumni network that continue to define Texas Sigma today
